Who We Are

Founded in 2008, Reef Check Italia ETS (ex onlus) was born by a partnership between the Reef Check Foundation, which is the coral reefs monitoring program officially recognized by the United Nations and the CEM Protocol (Coastal Environment Monitoring) of the Mediterranean Sea, created and proposed by some researchers of the Universities of Genoa, Marche Polytechnic and Bologna.

Reef Check Med

Reef Check Med is the totality of protocols developed by Reef Check Italia Onlus for the Mediterranean Sea.

It includes the Underwater CEM (Coastal Environmental Monitoring), for the submerged environment, the CEM Above Sea Level protocol, and many others.

Reef Check Tropical

The Tropical EcoDiver program allows participants the rare opportunity to work with teams of scientists throughout the world to combat the crises affecting our reefs today. The world's reefs are changing fast, and it is up to us to ensure that reefs are around for future generations.

Protocols

Participating to one of the Reef Check Italia Onlus protocols is an extraordinary opportunity of taking part in an ambitious project of scientific research, able to add value to any individual observation supplied.
